Thank you so much to all my readers in 2014! In the new year I have a big birthday and big plans for my business. I appreciate your support in coming along for the journey!
I love New Year's Eve! This year we are hosting a small gathering a couple days after to toast 2015. For a NYE party I like to feel festive but still comfortable. A cocktail dress paired with tights and booties fits the bill perfectly.
On a recent trip with my sister to Anthropologie, our animal instincts kicked in. Seriously, my sister had to cut me off... but not before I grabbed my bear shirt.
This video is way fun. I identify a little too much. Check it out: Kate Spade video, "The Waiting Game," starring Anna Kendrick. My friend said this morning at the 5th Grade chimes performance that she was having a Kate Spade Christmas. What could be better? Shop Pieces from the Shoot:
Polka Dots are one of my "things." This season I have found a great way to express myself on the cheap and compliment the dresses and skirts I already have in my closet.
Generally, patterned tights are an inexpensive way to up the ante. Check out these beauties:
I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season as much as I am! It is hard to believe we approaching mid-December. This coming weekend is all about The Nutcracker ballet for our girls, family visits, good food, wrapping presents, and making memories. I want to have enough free time for the magic and significance of the holiday to seep in for us all.
Sweaters of all sorts are a huge trend this season. But sometimes the look of sweater + Pants + boots can get a little dull and masculine. Adding a silky or lace hem elevates the look effortlessly. You are rocking the layered look and the hem mitigates the boxy severity of a sweater. Suddenly you are both warm and pretty!
There is not a single stitch of sewing involved. Check out these dressed up sweaters!
This one is a juniors from Nordstrom, but I have never been afraid of the Juniors section. You can achieve the look at a fraction of the cost of misses sizes. Just size up!
I am obsessed with this gorgeous black lace dress. It hugs your curves in all the right places and is so comfortable. It is stretchy but thick and fully lined. I bought it for my high school reunion this October to wear to a cocktail reception. When you click on the link check out the reviews. If you want to feel polished and super feminine, this is the ticket.
This look was inspired by one of my best friend's party outfits. The outfit was classic with an edgy vibe. You could tone it down by losing some jewelry or swapping the lace for a plain top. The statement necklace makes it. All black everywhere else lays the foundation for the statement pieces (necklace, ring). When you do an edgy party outfit balance the look with natural hair and make-up. Gorgeous darling.
An easy outfit for a cold, wet day. This look is a little twist on sweater, jeans, boots. It's all in the details: cuff the jeans and throw on a complimentary necklace. Excuse the picture; I am unpracticed at selfies!!
The look: black booties, long sleeved slim white tee, black Aztec sweater, rolled skinny jeans, orange wooden necklace and suede black booties.
Sometimes you are just having a tunic kind of day. This is all I could manufacture out of my closet this morning. After all, it was a day of computer work and carpools. I have had a similar chambray tunic from J.Crew for years. It is fabulous as a cover-up in the summer and equally useful in the winter layered over slim tops. Just roll up the sleeves so the under-layer peeks out.
